Commonwealth Games gold medal stolen in Thatcham

An antique Commonwealth Games gold medal is among items worth £17,800 burgled from a Berkshire house.

The early 20th Century medal is for curling and belonged to the victim's great-grandfather.

Burglars got into the house in Bath Road, Thatcham, by removing a French window from its hinge on Tuesday morning.

Items stolen include a Breitling Colt SuperOcean watch and a steel and gold men's Rolex watch.
