Seven people are to appear before a Crown Court in connection with disorder in Berkshire.

The defendants appeared before Reading magistrates earlier in connection with an incident at the town's Makro store in Elgar Road South in August.

Their cases were all committed to be heard at Reading Crown Court.

Five of the defendants face charges of non-residential burglary and violent disorder. Two others are accused of handling stolen goods.

The seven males, aged between 16 and 39 and from the Whitley area, will next appear at Reading Crown Court on 15 November.

An eighth person is due to appear before magistrates on Tuesday.

Cases against four other men from Katesgrove, Tilehurst, Newtown and Purley have been dropped.
