Pizza delivery man robbed and stabbed in Reading

A Reading pizza delivery driver was punched, stabbed and robbed of his keys by a man wielding a kitchen knife as he delivered a pizza.

The Milano Pizza worker was making a delivery in Newcastle Road when he stopped to check the address and heard a knock on his car window.

He let down the window and was punched and pulled from the car by a man demanding he hand over pizza and money.

The incident happened on 7 October but police have only just released details.

When the delivery man refused to hand over the goods, he was stabbed in his left hand.

He then pushed the robber, believed to be aged in his 20s, and was chased by four men as he ran away along Newcastle Road.

He took refuge in an off-licence in nearby Northumberland Avenue before returning to his car to find that the offenders had stolen the keys to his vehicle and house.

He was treated at the Royal Berkshire Hospital for his hand injury. He is not thought to have any permanent injuries.
