Two stabbed in Reading gang fight

Two 16-year-old boys suffered stab wounds in a fight between two teenage gangs in Berkshire.

Up to 30 young people were involved in the fight at the Lyon Square flats, in Tileshurst, Reading, on Wednesday evening and two were arrested.

One of the boys received an injury to his shoulder blade and one was cut on his buttocks.

A police spokesman said: "These boys were lucky not to have not been more seriously injured."

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault, affray and possession of an offensive weapon. He has been released on police bail until 15 December.

All of the young people involved are thought to be aged between about 15 and 19-years-old.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact officers.
