Power restored to Berkshire homes after high winds

Power has been restored to homes in Berkshire after trees were blown on to power lines and wires came down overnight.

Southern Electric said about 4,000 homes were initially affected by the problems but all were reconnected by late afternoon.

About 400 properties in Pangbourne were without power for several hours before supplies were restored.

Supplies were also hit following high winds overnight on Tuesday.
