Water supply restored after leak in Oxfordshire

A burst water pipe that cut off supply to hundreds of residents in Oxfordshire has been fixed.

A Thames Water spokeswoman said engineers shut off the burst water main in the Carterton area just before 08:00 GMT.

She apologised for the inconvenience caused and said the water pressure would soon return to normal.

The company had taken more than 200 calls from people whose supply was affected.

Carterton Primary, Edith Moorhouse and Gateway primary schools in Carterton and St Kenelm's primary school in Minster Lovell are closed as a result of the leak.
