Three arrested after fatal crash in Berkshire

An 18-year-old driver has died following a crash in Berkshire.

The man, from Wokingham, was injured on Wednesday evening when his VW Golf was in collision with a Ford Transit van on the A329 at the Winnersh crossroads.

He was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital but later died. Three passengers in the car were also injured.

The van driver, a 23-year-old man from Woosehill, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He remains in custody.

His two passengers, a 24-year-old man from Hurst and a 23-year-old man from Woosehill, were also arrested on the same charge and bailed until 1 May.

Thames Valley Police said the car was approaching the crossroads on King Street Lane when it was in collision with the van which had been travelling on the Reading Road at about 20:55 GMT.

One of the car passengers remains in Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital in a stable condition. The other two suffered minor injuries.
