A 64-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of a teenage nanny in Berkshire 45 years ago.

Yolande Waddington, 17, was found dead in the village of Beenham in October 1966. She had been stabbed and strangled.

David Burgess, of Beenham, denied the charge at a pre-trial hearing at Reading Crown Court and was remanded in custody.

He is due to face trial at the court on 13 June.
