Pair guilty after Bracknell baby suffered broken legs

A man and woman from Berkshire have been found guilty of neglecting a baby who suffered broken bones and other serious injuries.

The seven-month-old girl had a number of fractures to her legs in March 2011.

A 28-year-old man and 22-year-old woman from Bracknell, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were both convicted of neglect and abandonment of a child.

The man was also found guilty at Reading Crown Court of inflicting grievous bodily harm.

They have both been released on bail to be sentenced at the same court on 26 October.

Det Con Andy Ward, who led the investigation, said: "The baby in this case was hurt by the people that should have been caring for her.

"Fortunately it appears she will make a full recovery from her injuries."
