American rock band The B-52s are to headline the 1980s-themed Rewind Festival in Henley-on-Thames.

Organisers say the band's performance on 17 August will be their only UK festival appearance in 2013.

The Pointer Sisters will close the festival at Temple Island Meadows on the Oxfordshire-Berkshire border with a headline slot on the Sunday night.

Bands that have previously played the two-day event include Boy George, Bananarama and Holly Johnson.

The festival, which is now in its fifth year, attracts about 40,000 people.
