Arborfield death: Krishnamaya Mabo was soldier's wife

A woman found dead in a field in Berkshire was the wife of a soldier, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed.

Krishnamaya Mabo, a 39-year-old Nepalese went missing from her home in Arborfield, on Sunday evening.

Her body was found in a field near Robin Hood Copse the following afternoon.

An Army spokesman said: "It is with deep sadness that the community of Arborfield Garrison learned of the tragic loss."

He added: "Naturally our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this difficult time."

A post-mortem examination at the Royal Berkshire Hospital on Tuesday revealed she was asphyxiated.

Thames Valley Police have been granted more time to question a 30-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police want anyone who was walking in fields or woodland between Castle Hill and Eversley Road on Sunday afternoon or evening to contact them.
