Newbury murder arrest extension granted

Police have been given more time to question a man arrested on suspicion of murder in West Berkshire.

Mark Campbell, 42, from Newbury, was found by an ambulance crew at a property in The Nightingales, Newbury, on Wednesday evening.

Thames Valley Police now have until 22:00 BST to charge the 41-year-old man who was arrested near the scene following a police search.

Four other people held in connection with the murder have been bailed.

A 42-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been bailed until 22 July.

A 19-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been bailed until 19 July.

A 20-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of affray has been bailed until 18 July.
