Mark Campbell death: Man charged with murder

A man has been charged with murdering a 42-year-old man in a Berkshire town.

Mark Campbell, 42, from Newbury, was found by an ambulance crew at a property in The Nightingales, Newbury, on Wednesday evening.

Simon Velvick, 41, of Newtown Road, Newbury, has been charged with murder and remanded in custody.

He is due to appear before Reading magistrates on 8 July. Four other people held in connection with the death have been bailed.

A 42-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been bailed until 22 July.

A 19-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been bailed until 19 July.

A 20-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of affray has been bailed until 18 July.
