Motorists in Reading are facing at least seven weeks of disruption as resurfacing work has started on 19 different roads.

The £1m project will affect main commuter routes including Norcot Road, Bath Road and Castle Hill.

Tony Page, of Reading Borough Council, said weather conditions during the winter had taken their toll on road surfaces.

He added the work was being done during school holidays to minimise disruption.
