Two robbers armed with a machete and hammer have stolen a safe from a betting shop.

The men were helped by a third member of the gang who was waiting in a getaway car behind the shop on High Street in Twyford, Berkshire.

Two customers and one member of staff were in the shop when the robbers struck at 19:15 GMT on Wednesday.

One customer escaped out of the front door and the robbers then made off through the back of the shop.

Money from the safe and gaming machines was demanded by the men, but they took the safe with them as they made their escape.

The man carrying the machete is described as stocky and was wearing a green jacket, red hood, black balaclava, light denim jeans and pale gloves.
