Man injured in fall from scaffolding in Reading street

A man has suffered injuries in a fall from scaffolding in a busy street in Reading.

Emergency services were called to a "fear for welfare report" in Southampton Street at about 11:00 BST on Thursday.

The injured man was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for treatment.

Surrounding roads were cordoned off while police investigated the incident but they have now reopened.

The extent of the man's injuries has not been revealed.
