A path linking Slough's bus station to the town centre will be closed for 12 months while the area is redeveloped.

Slough Borough Council said the temporary walkway will be shut from Wednesday night to allow work to begin on the first of three office buildings.

Construction had been due to start in 2011 along with the bus station, but was halted because of "viability issues".

Underground parking, restaurants and roof-top terraces will also be built.

A new temporary walkway will be built around the edge of the site while a permanent path will be reinstated on the original route when the building is complete in 2018.
