Deadly weapons cache recovered in Birmingham
Eight illegal firearms, including a Smith and Wesson and Mac-10 sub-machine gun, have been recovered from an industrial unit in Birmingham.
West Midlands Police said the cache of two Baikals, a Brocock, silencers and ammunition, was seized in the last month, but they would not say where.
A spokesman confirmed the weapons were for criminal use.
The weapons will be fingerprinted and tested for DNA before National Ballistics Intelligence Service checks.
The service, based in Birmingham, will confirm any links to previous criminality, the police spokesman added.
