Birmingham twins accused of shopkeeper murder

Twin brothers from Birmingham have been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a shopkeeper stabbed to death at his convenience store in Birmingham.

Suppiah Thaaemseelan, 48, died in Select Convenience Store in College Road, Kingstanding, on Saturday night.

Ian Meenan, from Kingstanding, appeared before Sutton Coldfield Magistrates' Court and was remanded to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday.

John Meenan, 26, of Camberley Grove, Erdington, was remanded until 4 March.

He appeared in Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday.

John Meenan previously appeared at Sutton Coldfield Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and is also charged with the murder.

An 18-year-old man from Erdington is due in court later also charged with the murder, as well as robbery and assault.
