Men sought over Birmingham girl's kidnap bid allegation

Parents are being urged to be vigilant after a 10-year-old girl described how three men tried to abduct her as she was walking to school in Birmingham.

Police said she was in Shard End at about 0835 GMT on Thursday.

The girl, who was not hurt, said she was grabbed by two of the men but managed to break free and run to a nearby house.

The men drove off in a white "box-type" van down Alderpits Road. Police are appealing for witnesses.

Det Sgt Ian Wilkins, said: "I would ask anybody who may have seen these men before, during or after the incident, to get in touch with us.

"I would also advise parents in the area to remain vigilant."
