Halesowen murder victim named by police

A woman found dead at a house in the West Midlands has been named by police.

Margaret Heather Wathen, 63, was found when police were called to a house at Brier Mill Road, Halesmere estate, Halesowen, on Wednesday.

Michael Wathen, 67, from Halesowen, is charged with murder and is due to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Mr Wathen was remanded in custody by Dudley magistrates on Friday.

Post-mortem tests confirmed Margaret Wathen died as a result of strangulation.
