Solihull teacher sentenced over indecent images

A teacher has been given a three-year community order for downloading 140 indecent images of children.

Timothy Davis, 38, from Monkspath, Solihull, was sentenced at Leamington Spa Justice Centre and told to complete a sex offenders treatment programme.

His name will remain on the sex offenders register for five years and he will be supervised for 36 months.

None of the images involved pupils from Monkspath Junior and Infants School, in Shirley, where Davis taught.

He has been served with a sex offence prevention order until further notice and is banned from working with children aged under 16.

He was also banned from accessing any internet chat room that involves communicating with children aged under 16.

Davis resigned from his job after being suspended from the school in Novemeber, a spokesman for Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council said.
