More than 40 firefighters were called to a blaze involving a large pile of rubbish at a waste management site during the night.

The fire, at the site on Cemetery Road in the Darlaston area of the West Midlands, spread to a grass embankment and a nearby railway track was closed.

Overhead lines were isolated for safety reasons, the fire service said.

The fire, spread across an area of 2,500 sq m (0.6 acres), was brought under control within four hours.
