Boy charged after Birmingham father and son stabbed

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after the stabbing of a father and son in Birmingham.

Former policeman Martin Thompson, 53, and his son Edward, 18, were stabbed outside their home in Alvechurch Road, West Heath, on Saturday night.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident at a house in Longbridge.

The boy was charged with two counts of attempted murder and has been remanded in custody until 31 May.

Mr Thompson was released from hospital while Edward remains in a stable condition in hospital.
