Dog attacks girl on school trip in Wolverhampton Park

A schoolgirl has been attacked by a dog during a school outing.

The 11-year-old was visiting Bantock Park in Broad Lane, Wolverhampton, as part of a supervised school outing when she was attacked at about 1105 BST.

West Midlands Ambulance Service treated the girl for a deep cut. It said she had been left with serious injuries to her lower and upper leg.

West Midlands Police said the dog had been seized and officers were interviewing witnesses.

The 11-year-old was one of 40 pupils in the park at that time but it is not known which school she attends.

The dog owner was also present at the time of the attack. No arrests have been made.
