A 16-year-old boy has been jailed for life, with a minimum sentence of 14 years, for murdering a man who was found dying on his doorstep.

Jay Sudra was stabbed in the heart as he walked to his home in Erdington, Birmingham, in July last year.

The 21-year-old died in his mother Vasha's arms on the doorstep of their home.

Lamah Prince was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court.

Speaking at the time of his death, Mr Sudra's mother said when she opened the door her son was unable to tell her what had happened to him.

"He said, 'Mum, help me mum' just once and that was it," she said.

"I opened the door - he just lay in my arms.

"Basically, he just came to say goodbye to me."
