A man has appeared in court charged in connection with the death of a 24-year-old who was killed in a collision two days before his 25th birthday.

Tauseef Shaukat was driving a Fiat Punto along Churchbridge, in Oldbury, on 13 June when he collided with a Subaru Impreza and died in hospital.

Robert Maxfield, 33, from Handsworth, was remanded in custody by magistrates in Wolverhampton on Saturday.

He is charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

He is due to appear at the city's crown court on 16 September.
