Birmingham Airport's Tehran-bound passengers able to leave

Most passengers caught up in a leasing dispute at Birmingham Airport have now left for their destination.

More than 100 Tehran-bound passengers were caught up in the dispute which involved an Iranian airline and a leasing company.

Birmingham Airport said Thursday's 1430 BST Mahan Air flight for Tehran had been grounded.

Passengers have now either got another flight or have returned home, a spokesman said.

It said the dispute involved Mahan Air and GECAS Aircraft Leasing and Financing Solutions company.

A representative for Mahan Air will be at the airport on Friday to help passengers.
