One man has died and three other people have been treated for their injuries following a vehicle collision in the West Midlands.

The crash between a car and van happened at the junction of Cornets End Lane and Meriden Lane, in Meriden, shortly before 11:00 BST.

An ambulance service spokesman said on arrival at the scene crews began treating four casualties.

He said a male passenger in the van was confirmed dead at the scene.

"The driver of the van, a man in his 20s, was treated for head injuries," he said.

"He was stabilised at the scene and immobilised with the use of a neck collar and spinal board before being airlifted to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

"Two women from the car involved were treated for minor injuries at the scene and did not require further hospital treatment."
