Two men in their 20s died in Castle Bromwich crash

Two men who died in a crash between a bus and a car in Birmingham were aged 20 and 23, police say.

A black Audi car was in collision with a single-decker bus on Newport Road, in Castle Bromwich, at about 18:40 BST on Wednesday.

Police said the 23-year-old man, who was in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 20-year-old man, from Leicestershire, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and died later.

Passengers injured

He was also in the car at the time of the collision.

It is not yet known where the 23-year-old was from.

The ambulance service treated some of the people from the bus for minor injuries but no serious injuries were reported.

A man has been arrested over the deaths and officers are appealing for anybody who witnessed the crash to come forward.
