Woman arrested over crash on Bristol Road, Edgbaston

A 29-year-old woman from Handsworth has been arrested after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Birmingham.

The man was seriously injured when he was knocked over by a Peugeot driver on the Bristol Road at the junction with Sir Harrys Road in Edgbaston.

The 38-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after the crash at about 07:30 BST.

The arrested woman is believed to have been driving the car. The collision caused extensive delays, police said.
