Police investigating the murder of a 63-year-old man found beaten to death in his home have named a man they wish trace in connection with the attack.

David McArthur was discovered in Woodbrooke Grove, Northfield, Birmingham, on Monday.

Police said Florian Baboi, also known as Jildow, is wanted for questioning over the death.

Mr Baboi is a Romanian national with connections to the West Midlands, particularly West Bromwich.

'Sustained assault'

The last sighting of him was in the West Bromwich area, a police spokesman said.

He also has connections to London.

Det Insp Wayne Jones, leading the investigation, said: "The motive for the attack on Mr McArthur is still unknown.

"The victim may have possibly known his assailant but all other lines of inquiry are being pursued.

"What is clear is that Mr McArthur was subjected to a sustained and ferocious assault and we need to trace the offender."
