Oldbury roof fall: Teenager taken to hospital

A teenage boy has been taken to hospital after falling from a roof in the West Midlands.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to a canal towpath near the Bridge Inn, on Station Road in Oldbury, at 23:15 BST on Wednesday.

An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle attended the scene.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said: "Crews found a teenage boy, believed to be 17 years old, who had reportedly fallen approximately 15ft."

She said the boy sustained a suspected fractured leg and had hip and wrist injuries.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham, by ambulance for further assessment and treatment.
