Birmingham Hodge Hill knife attack victim badly hurt
A man has been seriously injured in a knife attack in the Hodge Hill area of Birmingham.
Officers were called to reports that a man had collapsed outside a property in Coleshill Road at 15:30 BST.
The victim was approached by four men wearing balaclavas who attacked him with a large knife and left him with multiple injuries, police said.
The attackers got into a car and drove away. The victim is described as being in a serious but stable condition.
Det Ch Insp Sab Johal, from West Midlands Police Criminal Investigation Department, said: "We are in the very early stages of this inquiry but we urge anyone who was in the area at the time to contact us.
"Coleshill Road is likely to be have been fairly busy and we want to hear from anyone who saw people in the area acting suspiciously, or who may have seen a car making its getaway from the scene."
