Solihull Lode Lane crash: Dead boy named as Shane Jeavons

A 14-year-old boy who died after he was hit by a car in the West Midlands has been identified.

Shane Jeavons suffered a "significant" head injury and went into cardiac arrest at the scene, in Lode Lane, in Solihull, on Friday evening.

He was taken to hospital where he was confirmed dead, a spokesman said.

The driver of the vehicle, a blue Audi, has been interviewed by police but not arrested. Officers are continuing to investigate the collision.
