Wolverhampton power cut affects 9,000 properties

About 9,000 properties have been affected by a major power cut in Wolverhampton.

The Mander Shopping Centre was evacuated after a sub-station lost power just after 11:00 BST. Supplies to the centre have now been restored.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, who hosted QPR, said they lost power at their ground but the game went ahead after earlier being in doubt.

Western Power Distribution said it was working to fully restore supplies.

In a statement, Wolves warned people there would be disruption to food services at the match, particularly in corporate areas.
