Cuts campaigners in Lib Dem Birmingham conference march
Extra police were drafted in for a march in Birmingham against government cuts during the Liberal Democrat conference in the city.
Students, union members and anti-cuts campaigners assembled at about 11:00 BST and police said between 1,000 to 1,500 took part in a rally at 15:00.
Organiser, the TUC, said the march was not allowed near the conference venue - the International Convention Centre.
Police said about 780 people took part in the march, which was "peaceful".
