Boy cyclist dies after Castle Vale crash

A 10-year-old boy left in a critical condition after he was hit by a car in Birmingham has died.

The boy was riding his bicycle when he collided with a blue Mazda 6 in Farnborough Road, Castle Vale, at about 17:25 BST on Wednesday.

He was taken to hospital where he died on Thursday morning.

The car driver, a 24-year-old man from Birmingham, was interviewed by police earlier then released pending more inquiries.

Anyone with information about the crash should call police.
