Three men hurt after Birmingham city centre assaults
Police sealed off part of a Birmingham city centre street after three men were assaulted on Saturday morning.
Officers were called to Ryland Street at about 04:50 BST. It is believed two of the men were hurt there and a third was injured in Sherborne Street.
A 19-year-old man was detained in hospital with facial injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.
Another man had minor injuries and a third, aged 27, suffered a head injury which was not believed to be serious.
West Midlands Police said it was believed the men had been drinking in Broad Street and were attacked by "a group of males".
Det Insp Khalid Kiyani said: "We are investigating the assaults, fortunately none of the injuries are life threatening."
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
