Wolverhampton 'hit-and-run' crash woman seriously hurt
A woman has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident in Wolverhampton.
The crash happened near the Chapel Ash crossroads on the city's ring road at about 17:15 BST.
A police spokesman said the woman, in her 60s, was hit by a dark-coloured or black saloon car.
She was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham with multiple injuries to her head and chest where she remains in a "stable" condition.
The spokesman added that the car drove off towards the Fox Hotel roundabout but it was unclear which junction it took and officers have appealed for witnesses to help trace the vehicle.
Both sides of the carriageway were closed while the air ambulance landed.
