A couple from the West Midlands have appeared in court accused of causing suffering to a young monkey.

Lee Powell, 50, and Julie Jones, 41, are accused of failing to care for a marmoset-type monkey at their home in Stourbridge from 1 March to 15 June.

The pair, of Sunderland Drive, Amblecote, have denied four charges brought by the RSPCA under the Animal Welfare Act.

They were bailed to return to Dudley Magistrates' Court on 13 December.
