A main road was closed for a day-long police search in connection with the deaths of three men who were hit by a car during the Birmingham riots.

Haroon Jahan, 21, and brothers Shahzad Ali, 30, and Abdul Musavir, 31, were run over while protecting homes and stores in Winson Green in August.

As part of the investigation West Midlands Police closed Aberdeen Street near City Hospital on Wednesday.

Officers said the road was due to reopen later.

To date eight people have been charged with murder and one person has been charged with perverting the course of justice in connection with the men's deaths.
