Driver arrested after fatal crash in Stirchley

A 27-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a fatal crash in Birmingham.

A 76-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car close to the Co-Op supermarket in Hazelwell Street, Stirchley, shortly before 10:00 GMT.

The man died later in hospital. The road was closed temporarily for investigations but has since reopened.

West Midlands Police has urged anyone with information about the crash to contact officers.
