Second man charged over Wolverhampton new year assault

A second man has been charged in connection with an attack following a party in Wolverhampton which left a teenager in intensive care.

West Midlands Police said a 22-year-old man from Bilston was accused of wounding with intent and other counts of common assault and affray.

An 18-year-old man was hurt in Vaughan Road, Portobello, on 1 January, while he was waiting for a taxi with friends.

The injured man's condition is described by police as "very poorly".

A 23-year-old man appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday where he was charged with wounding with intent.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 28 March.
