First 'flat pack' homes for Darlastonhousing development

New flat pack houses have started being erected as part of a new £10m housing development.

The homes are being produced by the housing association Accord at their factory in Beechdale, Walsall.

More than 100 new homes, including 90 timber houses, are being constructed in Darlaston in a bid to create affordable housing.

The homes are made for the Whitworth Close development for people to rent, buy or share ownership.

The development is partly funded by the government's homes and communities agency, which has awarded the scheme a grant of £2m.
