Lower Gornal man admits stabbing dog

A man has admitted causing unnecessary suffering to an animal after a dog died following a knife attack.

A 12-year-old German Shepherd was stabbed in Dudley on Tuesday, police said.

At Dudley Magistrates' Court, the man, from Lower Gornal in the West Midlands, also admitted possessing a knife in a public place and criminal damage.

The 38-year-old was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 8 March.
