Two seriously hurt in Coventry machete attack raid

A man and his 18-year-old daughter sustained "serious injuries" when they were attacked with a machete by raiders in their home, police have said.

The 42-year-old man and the woman remain in hospital after the burglary at Hill Road, Keresley End, Coventry, on Wednesday morning.

Three men left the scene in a silver car after the attack.

Warwickshire Police urged anyone who saw discarded knives, other weapons or clothing in the area to call the force.

Police said the man suffered "life-changing" head injuries and a knee injury and his daughter suffered a serious gash to her arm.

Both their conditions are described as stable.

A police spokeswoman said: "The three males made off from the scene in a silver coloured vehicle, last seen driving along Somers Road, Keresley End in the direction of Shaftsbury Avenue.

"Police are appealing for any witnesses who saw anything in Hill Road at the time of the incident, or who saw the car or who has any information regarding this incident to come forward."
