Wolverhampton police in surprise cannabis factory find
Police investigating an attempted burglary in the West Midlands stumbled upon a "massive cannabis factory".
Two officers searching part of Wolverhampton for a suspect saw smoke coming from a house on Fawdry Street.
They managed to get neighbours away from the property before calling the fire service.
Crews "soon established that the house was being used as a cannabis factory, with plants being grown on every floor", a police spokeswoman said.
PC Lewis Littleford, one of the officers involved, said: "Fortunately we were able to clear the area before the fire service arrived.
"It was a fantastic result."
A man arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary was released without charge.
