Teenager charged over boy's assault in Cocksheds Lane

A teenager has been charged over an assault on a 16-year-old boy which left him in a critical condition in hospital.

The boy, from Warley, in the West Midlands, was found on Cocksheds Lane, Halesowen, on Friday evening.

Police said the 16-year-old was arrested on Tuesday and is due at Dudley Youth Court later charged with wounding with intent.

An 18-year-old also arrested on Tuesday has been released without charge.

A second 18-year-old man, arrested over the weekend, will face no further action, while a 14-year-old boy remains on bail pending further inquiries, a spokesman said.

The victim remains in a remains in a critical but stable condition after suffering a serious head injury.
