Walsall canal towpath murder: Woman charged

A 43-year-old woman has been charged with murdering a woman whose body was found on a canal towpath in the West Midlands.

The victim, named by police as Wendy Thorpe, 42, was discovered behind a house on Hunter Crescent in Walsall in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A post-mortem examination revealed she died as a result of head injuries.

The charged woman is due to appear at Walsall Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
